Venezuela set to boast the world's largest reserve of oil

Caracas, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela is set to boast the world's largest reserve of oil, relying on the process of quantification and certification being carried out in the Orinoco Oil Strip, Minister of Energy Rafael Ramirez said.

In remarks from Edmonton (Canada), Ramirez, who is also president of state-run oil firm PDVSA (Petroleos de Venezuela), highlighted the importance of heavy and extra-heavy crudes in the development of the sector in the near future.

Ramirez met with his peer from Alberta Province, Mel Knight, as part of a tour of pavilions installed during the second World Congress on Heavy Crude. They reviewed the characteristics of heavy crude in Canada and Venezuela, as well as the possibility of promoting the exchange of experiences in several fields.

The PDVSA president also met with Zheng Hu, vice president of state-run China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), and invited journalists and visitors to attend the third Congress on Heavy Crudes to be held in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in November 2009.

  1. How friendly is Ramirez getting with the neocon fascists who run Alberta and Canada (i.e. it's the neocon Alberta oilmen whose stooges now run the canadian government)?
