MoU for agricultural cooperation between Venezuela and Iran was published in Official Gazette

ABN.- It was published in the Official Gazette of Venezuela the Approval Law of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the Agricultural Cooperation between Venezuela and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Venezuelan National Assembly published the said law in the gazette number 38,894, dated Monday March 24th, 2008.

This memorandum was signed in Caracas on November 26th, 2007.

The parties undersigned the aforesaid document taking into account both countries will of promoting and carrying out common interest programs and projects in the agricultural sector and related areas, in order to assure both countries' food security.

The parties undertake agricultural sector cooperation on the basis of equity, sovereignty mutual respect, and advantages reciprocity principles, according to their local legal system and what is established in the memorandum.

The areas in which the cooperation will be promoted are: the exchange of scientific and technological information in the agricultural and livestock, vegetable, fishing, aquifer, and rural development matters; exchange of technicians, scientists, and experts in the area; drafting of internship programs to train professionals, small producers, technicians, scientists, and experts.

Furthermore, to carry out seminars, meetings, courses, and conferences in both countries on agriculture; to draft together technological development and research programs and projects linked with the agricultural and livestock sector, as well as the vegetable, fishing, aquifer, and rural development; to carry out projects on animal and vegetable health for the training, experiences exchange, and scientific-technological support, among others.
