Chavez blames the United States for violent protests in Tibet during the last two weeks that he said were aimed at trying to destabilize China

Venezuela's socialist President Hugo Chavez blamed the United States for violent protests in Tibet during the last two weeks that he said were aimed at trying to destabilize China. In comments reported by his press office on Sunday, Chavez said the protests were an example of the U.S. 'empire' 'going against China' and trying to divide the Asian powerhouse.

  1. And here we see the typical Reuters propaganda spin: 'Chávez the kook', or whatever the angle is this time.

But Hugo Chávez is certainly correct to see an imperialist hand behind whoever's stirring up divisions in China. And it's Reuters' job to aid their imperial masters by normalizing the intrigue and misdirecting people away from the guilty parties.
