According to the China Daily, many Chinese residents in other countries emailed their indignation against the way certain media organizations have published false information about what happened in that region.
A Chinese citizen in New York wrote, "We are angry at western media for distorting the truth. Innocent people were killed, but the West decided to take side with the rioters." Svein, from Norway, said in an email that Western media says it is independent, but it is clear that it has an agenda.
Chris Bloor, an Australian who knows the Asian country, wrote on the Internet, "If the participants in the riots had killed and burned innocent people in Australia or the United States, I"m sure they would have responded with terrible force." Xinhua news agency, for its part, published the testimony of Tony Gleason, a US citizen with the Poverty Release Fund, who works in Tibet and witnessed the separatist riots that took place in Lhasa on May 14.
The protests were in no way peaceful, said Gleason, who added that he did not see the Chinese police open fire against the demonstrators.
Ursula Rechbach, a Slovenian citizen who worked in Lhasa eight years, said the riots were premeditated or at least planned, so accusing China of massacring Tibetans is baseless.
Local media noted that more than 100 countries have expressed support for the way China handled the riots in Lhasa. According to official media, the latest messages came from Cuba, Venezuela, Turkey, Oman and the Comoros Islands.
