I see that you have been scandalized by my latest article. Why don't you write an article and attack what I say? I don't mind at all. Let it all out!

--- John Sanchez writes:
Nothing to let out Brother... Also, you should get to know me... And learn about the scars I carry and had to deal with my entire life. People have different opinions and different ways of seeing things... One must respect everyone, and choose peace at all time. Two wrongs won't ever change anything, nor disagreements. I trust in the words I find in Romans 12:17-19.
Peace and Love, might be a sell out slogan nowadays, but there is truth in them.

John: I do not care to be called "Brother." But, you should realize that I have absolutely nothing against you (as Roy knows -- and you should also know it). I have never believed in God, although I was studying to be a priest and worked as a missionary for many years. I am an atheist, so we can never ever see eye to eye.
I know the Bible quiet well ... but it doesn't mean I see it as a religious thing, far from it.
I respect your opinion, but I certainly will not agree with it and I certainly will argue it out with you or any other “Christian.”
I don't care about whaever sufferings you may have had ... but that is not a personal attack on you. The reason is quite simple ... the vast majority of us have lived traumatizing situations, and the vast majority, more than you or I … thus you are no different than I am and no different from the many innocent people that have died in my arms due to war and oppression and due to intellectual property rights held by multi-national pharmaceutical.
Furthermore, you do not know about my life. You do not know what I have lived. You may believe in your God, which happens to be the same God of Islam … and that is your prerogative.
I decided at a young age (11 years old) that I shall not believe in any God, and especially not in any God that has been used to slaughter millions of innocent people throughout the ages (read some history, in case you do not agree with this) … but that is my prerogative.
When I was 15 years old I decided that I would never own anything and I left home … and I have lived that way since (except that I do own a few books, paper, a computer, a few clothes, and 3 guitars). Yet, I have been able to raise (or lead) a wonderful child into this world, one who lives the life of respect and love within the western world of true treachery.
But that is who I am …
Charity and hope, are some of the words I keep away from … (Jesus) said it very clearly in Corinthians 13 … for the greatest of these is love. But I will not love a rapist, nor a child-molester, nor a murderer of innocent (or weaker) persons, nor a soldier who kills, maims and rapes.
But again, that is my way.
Remember that Jesus flogged the sellers at the synagogue. In my view, neither Heaven or Hell (or purgatory) exists.
I see life as a humanist.
Have you ever seen the children of US/Euro wars? I have. Eyes burnt out, ears cut off, tongues cut in half, broken and distorted limbs put through wooden molds as they grow, sold for money!
This is not fiction … and neither was it fiction when religion used religious “reasons” to burn innocent women as witches, when they put the Natives into reserves and the church kidnapped their innocent babes and sent them off to faraway places to be brutalized and raped.
- Read about the Crees, just one of many examples. I worked with them for about 4 years, read!
Will you allow yourself to be guided and brainwashed by a bunch of hypocrites?
How would you like it if you were forced to give up your children with the threat of starvation and/or jail?
… knowing that your children would be raped by priests and the wealthy elite?
The last of the Residential Schools (run by the church, yes!) closed, in Canada, in the early 1970s (and the last one closed in 1983, if I remember correctly). Research it … this is not an illusion, it is real, very real … but perhaps, if you were not personally affected, it may not mean anything to you? I personally know the Cree leaders. Do you?
I know it hurts a great deal to be faced with the truth of how things work, how the church has tricked you. I know, for I was to be a priest … and I am not the only one.
John, if you really disagree with me, make a point … write against me, against my thinking. If your God is right, then you shall win. Write against me. There is nothing stopping you, and it is certainly not me.
Isn’t the idea to get the truth out?
If you do not speak up, the truth will never come out. I could be completely wrong, couldn’t I? So do it!

In no way is it acceptable that the slave must "choose peace" with the 'master', their oppressor. There can be no 'meeting of the minds' in such a relationship of exploitation. These are fundamental and irreconcilable class positions which are absolutely unamenable to 'discussion' or 'negotiation'.
ReplyDeleteFact is, christianity is a slave religion, John Sanchez. It is written for slaves and servants of a rigidly hierarchical and patriarchal, feudal society. It is meant to pacify them for the masters, so that wile, instead of force, can be used to keep them in line. Christianity, in fact, is undemocratic to its core, in spite of Jesus' supposed and much vaunted egalitarianism, and it preaches that we should all accept our lot in life.
And screw that, John Sanchez. We fight. For socialism and democracy.
