Washington Guided Colombian Incursion into Ecuador

The US government provided information that led to the death of Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) leader Raul Reyes in Ecuador, in violation of this country’s sovereignty. A high-level source in the Colombian Ministry of Defense told AFP news service on Monday that a US agency informed the Colombian authorities several weeks ago about the existence of a satellite telephone used occasionally by Reyes. “The US provided the identification of the satellite telephone to Colombian police intelligence forces which then processed the information and worked to establish the location of the phone. The US also provided the informants,” stated an official requesting anonymity.

  1. It was not only that that U.S. intelligence informed the Colombian government of the location of a FARC camp in Ecuador, but also sent their planes in the bombing raid in Ecuador. That is why Bush is adamant that it was not an illegal raid.

Bush as U.S. President cannot call the raid illegal if U.S. forces took part in it, can he. All that we have heard so far,is an attempt by George W. Bush to talk from his rear end. That is why nothing seems to make sense at all. Perhaps George W. Bush is the only. president in U.S. history who is able to talk from both ends, and that is quite a feat.
