Caracas, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) The US efforts to list Venezuela as a "terrorist" nation confirm that non stop hostilities may be reinforced in coming months.
President Hugo Chavez warned people to expect new plots like the one recently frustrated at the Santo Domingo Rio Group Summit, after Colombia's military raid into Ecuadorian territory.
Chavez reminded that the goal of a preemptive attack or a military action against a country accused of terrorism is to occupy it and control its natural resources like oil.
Communications and Information Minister Andres Izarra warns against ensuing strategies after the Summit of the Group of Rio thwarted Bush's new effort to isolate and expand his political, economic and media attacks against Venezuela.
Deputy Foreign Minister Jorge Valero called it a "shameless and conspicuous" maneuver by a government sponsor of state terrorism, occupying Iraq and Afghanistan against international law.
Aristobulo Isturiz, member of the new Socialist Party (PSUV) leadership, explains it as preemptive war against Venezuela.
Edgar Barreto, Venezuela´s Chief of Staff Defense and Security chief analyst, says it was possible the US planned the massacre that Colombian troops perpetrated in Ecuador.
Barreto said behind that raid was the interventionist policy disguised in Plan Colombia, plus the activation of the preemptive war doctrine. He also mentioned US allegations of an acquisition by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) of 50 kg of uranium as a way to justify a preemptive action in the region.
