If the U.S. tries to add Venezuela to the list of countries that support terrorism ... that would be "an aberration and an absurdity!"

Caracas Daily Journal (Vincent Bevins): When all the foreign ministers of the OAS meet for the special meeting on March 17 to discuss the Colombian attack on Ecuador, the United States "will not have the necessary force to bend the will of the countries of the Group of Río, said Venezuelan OAS Minister Jorge Valero.

The United States is the only country that has continued to offer unconditional support to Colombia after the Group of Rio issued a strong statement condemning their actions Monday, and Valero and others expect to see a clash of wills at the OAS, which is located in Washington.

If the Bush government tries to oppose the clearly united voice of the Latin American countries, Valero believes that would show that "he is trying to impose doctrines that do not belong to our continent and they were rejected." He added that if the U.S. tried to add Venezuela to the list of countries that support terrorism, that would be "an aberration and an absurdity."
