24th Congress of the Venezuelan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, March 11 to 14

Caracas Daily Journal (Jaandry M. Tovar H.): The present tendency in relation to the oral contraceptive matter implies offering women more and better additional benefits that allow them to solve health, tolerance and cosmetic aspects which are nowadays very important in their lives.

The XXIV National Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology is being held at Maracaibo (Hotel Maruma) from March 11 to 14 – the event that is sponsored by Grünenthal Laboratories, which is offering the symposium "Health, Welfare and Image: The oral contraceptives," improves women's quality of life.

The objective of this congress is to inform the audience that there are other contraceptive options that have a positive impact over health since they improve specific conditions such as the dysmenorrhoea (menstrual pains) and the image (with additional cosmetic benefits to skin and weight) that offer a greater welfare and improve women's quality of life.

In this symposium, three well-known specialists will offer interesting lectures.
  • Dr. Wellington Aguirre, Ecuador: "Giving up the pill and its side effects. What can we do?"
  • Dr. Alfredo Caraballo, Venezuela: "Oral hormonal contraceptives and dysmenorrhoea".
  • Dra. Rosa Sabatini, Italia: "Non contraceptive effects of two contraceptive combinations with antiandrogen progestagens."
