Recruiting Spies in the US Peace Corps...

“It flies in the face of what the Fulbright program is all about,” says John Alexander van Schaick, 23, a Fulbright scholar from Rutgers University, who says that last year, an embassy official instructed him to report on Venezuelans and Cubans living and working in Bolivia. “We’re supposed to be here to help with mutual understanding, not intelligence operations.”

  1. This is the problem with all these reformist pseudo-socialist governments in América Latina: they continue to hope that at some point the yanqui imperialists are going to stop subverting their countries -- and they are DEAD WRONG about that.

And how long can you beat the odds playing russian roulette..?
The proper stance is to just play hardball -- and cut relations down, as-needed. And EXPECT to do that. Because there is no future in relations with the capitalists.

And that is NOT what Bolivia's masses came out in revolution for.
