Spain calls for calm between Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela

The Spanish government Monday expressed 'concern' over the tension between Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, calling for 'calm' and offering to help the three countries 'recover an atmosphere of understanding.'Spain remained in contact with the authorities of the three countries, the Foreign Ministry said in a communique, urging them to use 'diplomatic channels' to solve disagreements.

  1. People who call for 'calm' in the interests of maintaining the status quo are really not so much interested in 'calm' as they are in the status quo. There comes a point in any struggle where it is more important to see the struggle develop to its logical conclusions than it is to attempt to artificially stall it -- and see it remain in a stew, breeding an even worse outcome for later. However, it is in the nature of opportunists to be only interested in their own ends -- forget about doing what is right and true. And this would be the situation with the likes of those who now run the spanish, and other 'socialist' governments.

So it is time to tell the collective spanish government here: "¿Por qué no te callas, chico?"
