Oscar Heck: Luckily, most of the world population sees it this way ...they just don't tell you about it on CNN!

VHeadline commentarist Oscar Heck writes: Interesting. VHeadline received comment as a post recently, and I quote it in its entirety here:
"Fortunately this particular crisis came to an end, but the worries of events like these happening again still there if we do not start our genuine integration once and for all. This integration and unity must consist of an strong and powerful foundation, formation of ideologies of unity and loyalty. A unity strong enough not for overcoming but for preventing conflicts like this one from happening again and by the way, the loyalty and faithfulness that Venezuela and Nicaragua demonstrated before the world for Ecuador. Based on what is been happening throughout the world, the People of Latin America, are realizing unbelievably more than ever that industrialized and military powerful nations will do something similar when weak nations with large variety of natural resources refuse to accept the offer of certain model of "democracy" and must have to take it extremely hard by means of threat, aggression and ways of invasion, exploitation, tortures, destruction and domination . This integration must also lead to the solution of all the conflicts of any kind, reduction and prevention of any illegal activities that affect negatively other nations and also affect the image of our region internationally in the same way. It will also facilitate the permanent withdrawal of foreign military forces, agents that are based in our region that generally use these excuses to keep its presence in these territories and by far these are a lear threat to our freedom and liberties. Jose L. Gomez, Charlotte, NC, USA"
There are two statements which caught my attention. One is "This integration must also lead to the solution of all the conflicts of any kind, reduction and prevention of any illegal activities that affect negatively other nations and also affect the image of our region internationally in the same way."

I believe this statement is well intentioned, no doubt, however ... it is also true that no matter what "good things" Latin American nations do that is not in line with US policy and US dictates, the image of Latin America and Latin Americans will always be tainted and dragged through the mud by the US government.

Supposing that Venezuela did indeed manage to stop all drug trafficking through its country yet Chavez remains in power, the US government will indeed invent some other accusation to discredit Venezuelans ... perhaps saying that Venezuela is the biggest smuggler of sex slaves or that Venezuela is starting a nuclear arms program.

As long as Chavez is in power, as long as Correa (Ecuador), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Daniel Ortega (Nicaragua) remain in power and as long as The People of Cuba remain in power, these countries will be dragged through cow dung by the US State Department and the mass media, especially within the USA.

This is not speculation on my part ... it is as close to reality as possible.

The other issue here is ... what is illegal? According to who? It used to be "illegal" to be a Witch. According to the USA, it is not illegal to exploit cheap labor if there exist no applicable laws within the country where they are doing the exploiting.
It was not illegal for US corporations to pay an absurd 1% royalties to the Venezuelan government for oil extraction. It was neither "illegal" for those same corporations to pay-off "accountants" and Venezuelan government officials to evade due taxes.
  • If we were to abide by US legalese, we in Latin America would continue to gladly exploit the exploited and pay no due taxes or royalties.
According to the USA, the cultivation of coca is illegal, whereas, in Indigenous cultures (which accounts for at least 80% of the Andean population in some countries), it is not illegal.

Furthermore, about coca and cocaine, the USA labels the manufacturing and distribution of cocaine to its heavily addicted population as a crime! But it is "legal" in the USA to distribute derivatives of coca as "legal" pharmaceuticals through its highly-corrupt pharmaceutical mafias.

According to the USA, it is "legal" to own intellectual property rights on medication to be sold for the highest price possible leaving the vast majority of the world's population without access to that medication, killing millions of innocent people in the process. I and millions of other people throughout the world believe that this is a crime. Who says what is illegal and what is a crime?

The next thing that caught my attention is "It will also facilitate the permanent withdrawal of foreign military forces, agents that are based in our region that generally use these excuses to keep its presence in these territories..."

This is very nice ... but that isn't at all how it works, and I will give Jose a real example. I personally know a CIA agent who recently worked in Argentina for an extended period of time. There has been absolutely no "legal" reason for the US to use subversive infiltrates in the last years in Argentina ... but they did it and continue to do it.

The US government will never stop infiltrating other countries, friendly or not, using CIA agents with covers such as medical doctors (which is the case with the CIA person I know), priests (I know one who worked for the CIA previous to the time of Allende ... and who was a friend of Pinochet), missionaries, NGOs, labor unions and more.

This has been proved over and over again ... and anyone can verify this by going to the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) website and searching it in detail and cross-referencing the information from their site.

It is important to know that the NED was created under Reagan in the early 1980s to replace the CIA's clandestine financing of pro-USA operations and violent operations abroad.

Jose, the USA is a ruthless, lying, backstabbing and completely untrustworthy clan. They may say one thing, but, behind your back, they will do another. This is not fiction, this is fact.

Even if you bend forward and pull your pants down and allow them to do what they want to you, they will find a way to strip you of all dignity and humanity.

Luckily, most of the world population sees it this way ...they just don't tell you about it on CNN.

  1. What goal do we set our eyes on, in order to get past all this confusion and particularity and lies and misunderstanding? Why, socialism, of course. Our goal is socialist internationalism.

And socialism, internationalist or otherwise, is not the same thing as "social-democracy" -- which, of course, the social-democrat leaderships generally purposely confuse with socialism in order to throw the masses off the track, being the opportunists and reformists they are. The rest of the activists just go along with the flow, confusedly.

Social-democracy, of course, is the futile attempt to put a human, "social justice" face on capitalism; and it fails every time -- no matter how long they can maintain the charade any particular period -- because always at some point, the capitalists come looking to take back what they'd conceded to the social-democrats previously, for whatever reason. This is the inevitable logic of leaving the capitalists in control of the commanding heights of the economy, and thus of society. Socialism, on the other hand, means exactly the opposite: taking control of the economy -- and thus of society -- away from the elite minority who run the world today (or try to) for their own selfish ends.

Unfortunately however, social-democracy is exactly what the majority of activists are trying to put in place inside Venezuela, and Ecuador, and Nicaragua, and Bolivia, etc. at this time, because they do indeed confuse the two (and not without some help from the top, understand...) And however well-meaning and sincere they are, the "socialist" forces in América Latina will have endless and increasingly dangerous confrontations with the capitalist forces -- and suffer endless political and economic subversion from the capitalist ranks -- as long as they do not see the difference between socialism and "social-democracy". And if they don't succeed in understanding this distinction -- the capitalists will win yet again.

And so our goal is socialism. And socialism is internationalist. Like the solidarity we have just witnessed in América Latina against the oligarchic U.S. and colombian aggressors.
