Ecuador rejects Colombian apology for rebel deaths

Ecuador rejected a Colombian apology as insufficient and sought international condemnation of the attack during an emergency meeting of the Organization of American States in Washington. The crisis was one of South America's most volatile in years. Venezuela's justice minister declared that war 'has already begun.' Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa called Colombian President Alvaro Uribe a 'boldfaced liar.' Uribe demanded that the International Criminal Court try Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for genocide. President Bush accused Chavez of 'provocative maneuvers.'

  1. Who can blame Ecuador for rejecting the Colombian apology for the deaths of FARC rebels? If the whole operation was planned by the Pentagon, how can Colombia deny that it never knew of it, and willingly partook in it? Here we go again with barefaced lies.

The U.S. informed Colombia of the clandestine operation some weeks ago, so denying it, only makes the Colombian government worse liars.

  2. Because, after all, an apology made with a smirk is not apology at all. In fact, it is adding insult to injury.

These colombian oligarchs need to be taught some hard lessons.
