Colombian politicians and jurists disallow Uribe's decision to charge Chavez at the International Criminal Court!

Bogota, Mar 4 (Prensa Latina) Colombian politicians and jurists disallowed the decision announced Tuesday by President Alvaro Uribe, who said that the International Criminal Court should charge Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for supporting Colombia"s main rebel group.

Carlos Heli Rojas, spokesman of Liberal Party, said that it is serious and anti-legal the proposal of Uribe and requested not to materialize it because Criminal Court cannot directly investigate a Head of State.

On the other hand, former Foreign Minister Maria Emma Mejia warned diplomatic authorities are still legitimate for Colombia to try to solve the crisis in the relations with Venezuela.

Likewise, Mejia described as dangerous for the government to take the matter to the Penal Court. He warned that strong evidences are required in order to accuse President Chavez for the support and financing of genocide before International Criminal Court.

  1. This is almost like those pissing matches, often with drunks in the street outside a bar, where friends of a beligerant 'hold him back' from committing mayhem on the other guy. But funny how they don't usually have to use too much force...

Your day in international court will come, Uribe. Wait.
