Bauxilum: Internal audit looks positive

Venezuela's Bauxilum has passed an internal audit that assessed quality control systems at both the Ciudad Guayana plant and the Los Pijiguaos bauxite mine, a company executive told BNamericas. 'With that, we can start preparing for the follow-up audit for ISO 9001:2000 certification that [Venezuela's state quality control agency] Fondonorma will give us in August,' the executive said. Fondonorma issued Bauxilum the ISO 9001:2000 certification for quality control systems in January 2005. The executive also said the company has launched a plan to consolidate its social policy that consists of four strategic pillars 'in order to continue promoting the development of the productive, human, social and cultural capacities of the communities near the company.'
