Various activities lined up for Venezuela week

The Venezuelan embassy is holding its third Venezuelan Week in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur Festival 2008. This year, the event will hold more interesting activities as it features food, handicraft and photography exhibitions, dance performances, salsa band and a business seminar. Sweet experience: Hernandez sticking little Venezuelan flag into a Quesillo Creme Caramel. It will be held in collaboration with the Information Ministry, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA), Qba Latin Bar & Grill and the Soka Gakkai Malaysia. It is set to run from June 29 to July 6. The Venezuelan Week also commemorates the country's Independence Day. Venezuelan ambassador Manuel Antonio Guzman Hernandez said the event promoted cultural exchanges between the two countries. “Although far apart, we can bring the distance between Venezuela and Malaysia together through the various cultural activities organised during the Venezuelan Week,” Hernandez said. One of the interesting activities is the Gourmet Festival themed Venezuelan Flavours, which will be held at the Westin Kuala Lumpur during the one-week period.
