President Hugo Chavez Frias was elected in 1998 to fulfill Venezuela's dreams ... why has his administration become such a nightmare?

VHeadline editor & publisher Roy S. Carson writes: I can certainly share the general frustration, and empathize with the outright anger and sheer contempt shown towards various members of the Chavez administration by foreign investors, business executives, the ordinary Joe Public (Juan Gonzalez) on the streets of Caracas and the critically impoverished mining families attempting daily to eke out miserable existences in the jungles of Venezuela's southern Bolivar State.

While government politicians, and 'Mickey Mouse' officials in their ever-increasing entourages, swill bucket-loads of Scotch whisky, and feed themselves to gluttonous excess at expensive eateries and other pig troughs at the expense of the public's purse, they rest of mankind are left to feast on promises, promises, even more promises and garbage cans full of already broken promises that never had any real meaning anyway!

Such is the crap situation into which Venezuela has fallen today -- with only weeks away to local and regional elections -- which surely must transmit a huge, if not knock-out slap in the face to President Chavez Frias to have him understand that the corrupt bunch of lunatics in charge of his dishonored administration are assassinating everything good that he ever stood for.

The (not so) Reverend Robertson may have signalled that necessity should dictate that Venezuela's democratically-elected President should be taken out, eliminated, assassinated, condemned to the forgotten pages of ignominious history. He was obviously wrong! While Chavez, the man, may be a thorn in the side of Robertson, Bush and those corrupted Northerners who join McCain/Palin to serenade "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb!" there's only so much that Chavez, the man, can do ... he's already admitted that he's NOT Mandrake the Magician and, on the face of it, it would take substantially more than a hundred David Copperfields and a college of Saintly miracles to transform Chavez' much-publicized theory of RRR (Revision, Rectification and Reform) into practicality against the dishonorable cadre of ministerial and ambassadorial appointments that luckless Chavez has had his career's misfortune to select ... alternatively to have had forced upon him.

It is NOT for nothing that Environment Minister (MinAmb) Yubiri Ortega de Carrizales -- whose only claim to ministerial (in)competence appears to be her marital(?) relationship with Venezuela's Vice President Ramon Carrizalez -- it's NOT for nothing that she's taken over the very accurate descriptive of "The Wicked Witch" from UK ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair's wayward spouse, Cherie. She's certainly no Miss Venezuela candidate, and scowling pictures of her jowls immediately transmit the essence of her intransigence, based on an assumption that hubby Ramon will (or perhaps will not?) fight her corner as she drops administrative clangers left, right and center.

Communications & Information (MinCI) Minister Andres Izarra's latest clanger -- turning a civil service ministry into a political party propaganda machine while his bag-man Yuri (I've been a revolutionary for 25 years) Pimentel drops unmitigated clangers daily at Venezolana de Television (VTV) -- simply shows that in Venezuelan government administration it is NOT the best brains that float to the top but rather the dregs from the bottom of an ever depleting reservoir of anything ... now mainly decomposed into false-flagged Venezuelan patriots.

Down at the Basic Industries & Mining Ministry (Mibam) Jose Khan had, at least, had the good sense of personal survival to stand down after his heart had been strained beyond human limits trying to contain the wholesale corruption within that Ministry ... which is simply a reflection of what's happening in ALL of the 21 other ministries without exception ... even Interior & Justice (MIJ) is up to its ears in corruption and let's not even begin to detail the malpractices at ONIDEX (the Passport & Identification Office) or in the National Prison's Service where Izarra's best buddy and bag-man Yuri (I've been a revolutionary for 25 years) Pimentel was very quickly exorcised from his hands-on incompetencies as the few remaining honest people in Chavez' administration saw he was making as much of a hash of the job as he continues to do 24/7 at VTV.

Ali Rodriguez Araque, formerly secretary general at the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in Vienna -- a former communist guerrilla, a consummate professional and basically Chavez' security mentor in the crucial hours before the USA-funded and facilitated April 2002 coup d'etat by Dictator for a Day Pedro Carmona Estanga -- had tried to maintain some degree of control with Rafael Ramirez at Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) before administration lunacies forced him to take a medical sabbatical in Cuba as ambassador-in-charge of President Chavez' brother's previous diplomatic failures. Yes! Ali Rodriguez Araque is now in charge of Venezuela's Finance (Hacienda) Ministry ... for what its worth since it appears that even though he boasts burgeoning foreign reserves, secured around the world in anything other than depleting USA dollars, he seems incapable of loosening the purse strings for anything other than President Hugo Chavez' effusive generosity to a string of other countries with their hands out for pennies from Heaven (a.k.a. Chavez) ... and let's not forget the multi millions in Venezuelan Bs.F purloined from under the Venezuelan Central Bank (BVC) mattress to fund Chavez' marshalling of left and lefter-of-left (previously independent) political parties under the curiously Munich-1936-like banner of PSUV.

YES! Almost a decade of promises, promises, promises and even more promises ... but where has it gotten Venezuela/Chavez other than into the commonality with previous, corrupt administrations that he likes to viscerate in violent rhetoric that belies the putrefaction of his own body politic's bowels.

A reader, writing from North America asks how to explain the constant conundrum of Chavez government inaction on his/her (the investor's) specific focus on the decades-long Las Cristinas Saga and the government's abject failure to address the overriding problems faced by thousands of unemployed gold miners in the southern jungles who could be fully employed and able to -- at least partly -- achieve some degree of ambition or optimism for a better future for themselves and their families if only Mibam Minister Rodolfo Sanz got his finger out (from whence we do not care to speculate!) and fulfill the promises he already made to his own citizens several years ago ... never mind to complete the promises, the undertakings, the specifications, the goals of an economic future signed into being in September 2004 with an industrial mining corporation that has already spent $ millions in infrastructure and other investments, depending on Venezuelan government promises...

Will those thousands of unemployed miners need to continue to demand honest answers from their government officials ... or will they be fed more and more promises that they know in their heart of hearts will never be kept? These people (the disappointed masses) already know now qualities such as honor in government and both honor and sincerity in government undertakings are just as transitory as the swilled whisky and the luxury dinners passing through the living corpses of official hacks ... and just as excremental on their way to political sewers.

Yes, indeed, we at VHeadline fully support the Venezuelan Revolution ... we support democracy, true democracy, constitutionality and the rule of law ... and that is why it is urgently required that Venezuela and Venezuelans realize their own true Revolution to restore sanity, decency, respect for human values and aspirations for a very much better future than the current cacophony of false-flagged and anti-socialist incompetents in government can ever achieve where simple promises are, and have been, so easily abused, converted into incontrovertible lies and deceptions.

President Hugo Chavez Frias was elected in 1998 to fulfill Venezuela's dreams ... why has his administration become such a nightmare?
