Venezuelan woman dies, husband critical in motorcycle crash at toll plaza

A woman from Venezuela died Saturday afternoon after the motorcycle on which she was riding with her husband overturned in the median of State Road 417, the Florida Highway Patrol said.Susan Marques was riding with her husband, Carlos Marques, on a Harley Davidson behind a pack of about 50 other motorcycles. As the group approached a toll plaza, a sport utility vehicle merged into the E-Pass lane. The motorcycles in the front of the pack began to slow down, but Carlos Marques, 45, didn't react in time and lost control of his bike. Both he and his wife were ejected, authorities said.Susan Marques died at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Florida Highway Patrol said. Carlos Marques sustained critical injuries. Both were wearing helmets. Authorities have not yet determined if alcohol was a factor.
