A Wyoming man who fled the country after being charged with drug crimes in South Dakota 14 years ago has been sentenced to prison time and a fine. Prosecutors say 54-year-old Dan Davis was found in Venezuela last year. He was originally charged in 1994 in state court with distributing methamphetamine and marijuana, and after posting bond he took off. Federal grand jurors indicted Davis on drug charges in June 1998 and he pleaded guilty in May in Rapid city to distribution of a controlled substance. A judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison and fined him $17,500. Davis also acknowledged violating parole for federal tax charges and failing to appear on the state drug charges.
