Carson writes: Not necessarily wishing to appear to be favoring either side in what is a thoroughly infantile international debate, I believe it is more than obvious that if Venezuela were to pose an immediate threat to the security of the United States of America ... more than the current resident of the White House has already achieved all by himself ... that, at the very least, strategic planners at the US State Department and/or in Langley, would be within their patriotic rights to make preparations against such an eventuality and to warn "back off guy, or we'll take action to protect our own interests!"
So why, therefore, is it such a surprise that Venezuela's Hugo Chavez Frias should similarly tell the Washington Beltway bullies that, if they continue to aid and abet those who seek to do damage to his democratically-elected presidency, he will take similar action to protect Venezuela's?
It should be more than obvious even to the most dim-witted practitioners of Washington dictatorship that, should the United States take any action to interfere with the domestic political affairs of Venezuela, that they should expect reciprocal 'cause and effect' to end up on their own doorstep!
And ... in the event that the United States should seek covertly or openly militarily to invade Venezuela ... why on earth should Venezuela continue to supply refined and crude oil to the United States or otherwise to facilitate its aggression against the Venezuelan people?
Come on...
Do you think, even for a second, that the United States would NOT impose unilateral embargoes against any nation it even remotely thinks is working against its own economic interests ... never mind Bush's economic and political dictates on the rest of the world? It's NOT a brain teaser ... just look at the evidence before your very eyes of what the Bush dictatorship has imposed around the world in recent years.
And ... that's NOT even to mention the Bush dynasty's historical misdeeds, including how Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to fame and boosted the Nazi war machine's efforts to subject the world to the Third Reich's infamy
But ... we digress from the logic of current 'cause and effect'!
Faced with the US first family's genocidal mania, and its already charted links to international terrorism, why on earth should Venezuela give Washington the benefit of the doubt, and write off George W. Bush's incoherent splutterings against Venezuela and Venezuelan democracy as the simply nonsensical ravings of a congenital lunatic in a long list of US presidents who have deluded themselves with the thought of their personal elevation to second only to God as ruler of the Universe?
Put quite simply, Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez Frias -- imbued with a fiery Latin temperament even at the best of times -- has more than enough problems on his plate trying to rectify the damage done to his country over the last century since the United States began to think it could simply grab what it wanted from the 'jungle bunnies' in South America to satisfy its every economic need.
Although they may NOT immediately have thought much about it, they were setting themselves up to emulate Britain in a previous century's onslaught to enslave its (now former) colonies with nary a regard for the subjects it fondly thought it could subject to its every whim.
Venezuela, of course, had only a century before, loosened its chains from colonial Spain in bloody wars led by The Liberator, Simon Bolivar, but through the corruption and neglect by its early 20th century governments and USA-encouraged dictatorships, that essential freedom to implement democracy was NOT fully implemented until the eve of the 21st century when Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias came to power on the back of nationwide disgust with a string of corrupt and mismanaged governments that had served as compliant warlords to Washington's economic and political strategies to conquer the world and far beyond.
Yes! Chavez Frias recognized the in-your-face fact that corrupt United States influence was one of the main causes of Venezuela's near-bankruptcy when, in 1999, he gained the Presidency of the Republic of Venezuela. He recognized the economic corruption that is becoming more apparent each day in continuing financial crashes as United States' greed is exposed for all the world to see. He wants a more European 'Third Way' socialist system, and set about trying (although some observers say he has apparently failed, so far) to inculcate the humanitarian socialist philosophy in a nation that had itself fallen prey to just about everything that's now falling apart in Wall Street's mayhem and its knock-on effects on the rest of the world that actually believed the United States system was something to emulate and admire...
Born-again McCarthys across the United States, in abject ignorance, however, equate "socialism" with under-the-bed "communism" and pathetic paranoia over Chavez' affinity to Cuba's ageing Fidel Castro ... Castro who had had the cojones to kick a USA-imposed system of corruption, organized crime, prostitution and slavery out of almost all of Cuba (except of course from the infamous US Guantanamo hellhole), has always been a very visible middle-finger stuck up to United States' dictate, and the fact that they (Washington DC) have not been able to cower Cuba into servility, only adds to the inevitable frustration of exiled Cuban Mafia in Miami who use their ill-gotten multi-$ million 'Al Capone' stranglehold on the US system to further their own nefarious ends.
Preening their unblemished(?) feathers in Washington DC, of course, the US administration tut-tuts about Castro's dictatorship, blinded to their own degradation of once-proud democracy, and easily castigate Chavez Frias for blowing his stack and using expletives to tell the "Yanqui de mierda" that they'd better back off in their covert and not-so covert attempts to overthrow his democratic government ... and that of Bolivia et.al.
He (Chavez) warns that if the United States insists on committing atrocities against Venezuela's security the cause and effect of their internationally aggressive and illegal actions will be that "not one drop of oil will be exported" to Gringolandia.
And rightly so ... for if some unruly brat tries to steal from your candy store, do you not have the right to call the cops and make sure the brat doesn't get through the door to steal some more?
