Car sales in Venezuela fell 7.4% in April versus the same month a year ago as companies adapt to government-imposed quotas restricting automobile imports.
The quotas the government imposed at the beginning of the year are boosting sales of domestically manufactured cars, which increased 16.8% in April versus the same month a year ago and stood at 13,599 vehicles sold, according to figures released by the Cavenez automobile chamber.
Meanwhile, sales of imported cars dropped 21.6% in April from the same month a year ago, and stood at 15,538 vehicles sold.
