National Assembly (AN) discusses accord rejecting Interpol's report about computers allegedly seized from the FARC

Caracas Daily Journal (Jeremy Morgan): The national media reported on Tuesday that the National Assembly, AN, is discussing an accord rejecting Interpol's report about computers allegedly seized from the FARC No2, Raul Reyes, in Ecuador last month.

Deputy Luis Tascon was reported to have proposed that Interpol's Secretary-General, Richard Kenneth, be invited to Venezuela in order for him to present the investigation carried out to technical personnel.
  • Tascon claims he needs explanations of the method used for the analysis of the computers Colombia claims that belonged to the guerrilla leader.
Podemos Deputy Ismael García, was reported to have backed the proposal. "It is convenient for Venezuelans, given such a serious event, that the investigation is carried out … We are not expecting automatic solidarities from anyone. I can neither credit nor discredit INTERPOL … let INTERPOL come here, and let's establish conditions, from our role of state and no tour role of government, for them to explain these situations to us."
