Striking workers at Hecla's gold mine set up road blocks along the Venezuela-Brazil interstate highway

Striking workers at Hecla's gold mine in southeastern Bolivar State have joined local communities to set up road blocks along the Venezuela-Brazil interstate highway at El Callao aimed at drawing the attention of Basic Industries & Mining Minister Rodolfo Sanz to continuing problems related to a stoppage at the workings and union representatives' call for the property to be nationalized over allegations of human rights abuses and labor exploitation.
