Julio Borges, the leader of major opposition Primero Justicia (PJ) party, commented on Wednesday, on behalf of his organization, on the remarks made the day before by Attorney General Luisa Ortega Díaz. The Attorney General had claimed that 'so far' she had found nothing irregular in the 26 decree-laws issued by President Hugo Chávez via enabling law. Borges noted that Ortega Díaz conceded that she had read only three out of the 26 directives; regardless of that, she claimed that the laws are in accordance with the Constitution. 'We would like to tell the Attorney General today that she is behaving exactly as if she were a member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). She has no right, let alone in her incumbency, to go over there giving political opinions, talking about a Constitution that she has not even read,' said Borges.
