Rosario Ponte was born in Venezuela and has lived in El Paso for the past 18 years, and is mostly known for doing portraits

The exhibit also will feature works by Rosario Ponte. Ponte was born in Venezuela and has lived in El Paso for the past 18 years, and is mostly known for doing portraits.
She said she hopes this exhibit will showcase the many facets of her work. 'Some people don't know I paint landscapes, too,' she said. 'I want to show that I can do a little bit of everything.' Ponte also said she would attend a three-week art course in New York City this summer. 'I want to keep learning. I want to be the best artist I can be,' she said. Museum administrator April Patronella said she thought the exhibit would give the public a chance to see a world that looks completely different from everyday El Paso. 'I want them to get a glimpse of landscapes beyond El Paso but still appreciate that these are local artists,' she said.
