Mota-Engil Group has a stake of 26% in a consortium of Portuguese companies that signed a contract for the first phase of the modernization of the port of La Guaira, Venezuela. This phase, preparation of the project, is budgeted at 9 million USD from a total of 658 USD estimated for the entire contract (57 months). The modernization of La Guaira port will have great impact, because it is the main port of Venezuela, serving the city of Caracas. The contract will modernize the port, through the implementation of new structures of berths, elements of maritime security, new platforms for cargo and containers handling and installation of lifting and cargo handling equipment.
