Gazprom Signs Contracts With Venezuelan Companies

Venezuela is interested in JSC Gazprom taking part in the LNG-project on the development of the Mariscal Sucre and Platforma Deltana fields and construction of an LNG plant in Venezuela. The Venezuelan side made a statement to this effect during a meeting with Gazprom in Moscow [on 23 July], a press- release distributed by Gazprom says. Moreover, the parties discussed progress in the Rafael Urdaneta project and possibilities for Gazprom's participation in creating a gas infrastructure in Venezuela, the statement says.Contracts were also signed with the Venezuelan side on the development of the General Scheme of Gas Industry Development in Venezuela and conducting work on the visualization of the first stage of the South-American pipeline.
