Chávez proposes world alternative media network

Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez suggested creating a 'world communications network that voices the words of our peoples.' His remarks came during his speech at the Seventh Conference of Ministers of Information of the Non Aligned Movement (Cominac), which is being held in Margarita Island, Venezuela. 'I hope we can set up a great social TV network with offices, studios, and satellites all over the Caribbean, Asia and Africa,' Chávez said. He urged both governments and peoples to embrace this initiative, reported the Venezuelan state news agency ABN. 'It must be a world network,' Chávez said.
