The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, bets on the Energy Security Treaty as integration tool for the countries of the Union of South American countries (Unasur.)
'I think the Energy Treaty could become in the Unasur's backbone; the idea owns so much driving force that it could produce several mechanisms, initiatives that will add another areas: the social, productive and economic fields , politics,' the President said during the I Ministerial Meeting of the South American countries' Energy Council, held in the Miraflores Presidential Palace, Caracas.
