U.S. ambassador to Venezuela from 1997-2000: 'Security, Democracy & Stability in Latin America and the Caribbean'
'Security, Democracy & Stability in Latin America and the Caribbean' on April 24. Maisto was the U.S. ambassador to the Organization of American States from 2003-2006, the U.S. ambassador to Venezuela from 1997-2000 and the U.S. ambassador to Nicaragua, 1993-1996. He served as special assistant to President Bush and as senior director for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the National Security Council for Condoleezza Rice. Maisto also is a director of the Miami-based U.S. Education Finance Group and a board member of the Washington-based International Student Exchange Program.
