RUSORO: Enemies want to hinder the good relations between the Russian Federation and the Venezuelan government

Rusoro said that it didn't have 'any debts with the workers.' The statement added that the activities of the independent miners were 'instigated and manipulated by enemies of the government that want to hinder the good relations between the Russian Federation and the Venezuelan government.' Rusoro is owned by the Russian Agapov family. Rusoro acquired the gold mine in December 2007 from South Africa's Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI), which stayed on as a minority partner.

  1. Who knows what the truth is here? Someone's certainly fibbing. But the thing about socialism -- the squalid capitalist nature of this particular situation notwithstanding -- is its system-wide and democratic requirement for full transparency at all times. And so full disclosure of what's going on here is not only possible -- it's mandatory. Let the venezuelan working-class get to the bottom of this. It is the workers who must benefit most here and everywhere. Organize the miners.
