An online radio station dedicated to challenging the leftist government of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez

Venezuelan Paul Sfeir, music producer and online radio pioneer, leans toward the computer screen in his Doral studio and points to the screaming headline on a blog that calls him a coup-plotter and an ``immoral bastard.'' ''It's all lies,'' says Sfeir, the owner of Radionexx.com, an online radio station dedicated to challenging the leftist government of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. ``I learned a long time ago not to pay attention to it.''

    Dear Mr. Sfeir,

I read about your station with interest, and found that there was a lot wanting. You rant a lot about the Chavez government stifling democracy, and you go on and on about your defence of Human Rights, but that seems to me as a façade for your real intentions.

The accusations against the Chavez government of Venezuela valid or not, cannot in any way or form be compared to the stifling of democracy in the U.S., Israel or states that that are allied to the U.S. Do I make myself clear? What now prevails in the above countries and what is falsely being passed-off as democracy is a croc. But you have not at any point denounced those countries for breaching democracy because of your own ethnic background, am I correct?

Are you aware of the plight of journalist in the U.S., Iraq, Afghanistan and Israel? If you are not aware, take the time to do some research and see their plight. At the very least in Venezuela you are still free to denounce the government as you are now doing and have still not been charged or incarcerated. But journalists in the countries that I mentioned have not been as lucky as you. They are for the most part locked away in prisons and tortured there, just for having criticized the government. You have not been tortured or had any imprisonment for your criticism of the government, have you? Yet again I remind you that all those secret prisons that the U.S. has around the world, are hidden away so that no one is there to complain, and is this the form of democracy that you promote? I dare you to use your website to openly criticize the governments that I have mentioned, and see what will happen to you after that. Know the true meaning of democracy before you purport to speak for it or about it, please.

Speak your mind, but not as a tool of American imperialism, but to clear the air with nothing but the truth at hand. Do a service for the people of Venezuela, not for a foreign power. But that would not be possible if you are already on their payroll. Set Venezuela on the road to REAL freedom, freedom for all its people and let no one have to do without, because there is money to advance the lives of the people. Become a part of the NEW spirit of Venezuela, promote Venezuela and most of all be loyal to the spirit of Simon Bolivar its liberator, by using your gifts to benefit your neighbours, your friends, your compadres.

I end this letter, with the hope that you will pay some attention to what I have written, and give some deep thought to my advice. Because, NOW is the moment when Venezuela needs you and everyone to pull together and make this Revolution a resounding success for the world to emulate.

    I am,

    As always,

    Sincerely,

    Kenneth T. Tellis
