Chávez expresses support for Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa's decision to replace several high military officials

Caracas Daily Journal (Vincent Bevins): President Chávez expressed his support for Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa's decision to replace several high military officials, while Ecuador again denounced a supposed violation of its airspace by Colombian military aircraft.

Chávez said that Correa acted with "courage" when he forced the resignation of the Defense Minister, among others, since similar infiltrations had taken place in Venezuela.

Correa became enraged with these officials and convinced of their "infiltration" by the CIA when they informed U.S. and Colombian officials about the ties of an Ecuadorian with the FARC but did not inform him.
The man was killed in the raid on May 1st which was aimed at Raul Reyes.

Relations between Colombia and Ecuador have not improved, however, as Ecuador denounced Thursday a violation of its airspace by a military helicopter. Invasion of territorial sovereignty is what caused the diplomatic crisis in the first place.

Colombia denies the incursion, saying it would have been impossible.

  1. All over the world, sovereign governments have to seriously begin routing out imperialist spies, saboteurs and agents. Certainly if they want to seriously count themselves among the "Non-Aligned" Movement (NAM) at the very least. And it's their own damned fault what happens to these traitors: they're the ones who have made the selfish, stupid, dangerous choice against the people of their own countries, and of the world.

And frankly, they shall count themselves lucky if they avoid a firing squad, for being bought for their 30 pieces of silver.
