Spain will not intervene in Venezuela's plans to nationalize a large bank owned by Spain's Santander and hopes a deal can be reached shortly, Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Maria Teresa de la Vega said on Friday. Spain's Socialist government hopes Santander, the country's largest bank, and the government of Venezuela can reach an agreement through 'dialogue and negotiation' regarding the sale of Banco de Venezuela, De la Vega added. 'We will not intervene,' she told a press conference after the cabinet's weekly meeting.
