Killers may have targeted wrong man
Venezuelan police said Wednesday the killing of a newspaper executive this week might have been a case of mistaken identity. Pierre Fould Gerge, the vice president of the business newspaper Reporte de la Economia, was killed by gunmen on a motorcycle. However, Gerges was driving a car that belonged to his brother, the newspaper's president, Tanous Gerges. Police said Tanous Gerges had received death threats in recent days. His newspaper is well-known for exposing financial corruption cases in Venezuela.
