Top executives given early retirement with immediate effect by CVG president and Mibam Minister Rodolfo Sanz

Following an on-site inspection at the Venezuelan Guyana Corporation's gold-mining subsidiary CVG-Minerven, a number of top executives (including Minerven president Jose Mercado) have been given early retirement with immediate effect by CVG president and Basic Industries and Mines (Mibam) Minister Rodolfo Sanz.

It is understood that, pending an official announcement to be published in the Gaceta Oficial, key officials have already been replaced by Ernesto Flores who will also take on a role as a Vice Minister of Mines and Luis Herrera Mendoza -- cited unofficially as the new CVG Minerven president -- who is currently, and supposedly will remain, national director of revenues at the Ministry of Basic Industries and Mines (Mibam).
