Manuela Valenti, a native of Venezuela was named February's artist of the month

Manuela Valenti, a native of Venezuela who now lives in Shelby Township, was named February's artist of the month by the Sterling Heights Cultural Commission. Examples of her work are to be on display throughout the month on the lower level of City Hall, 40555 Utica. Her work has appeared in exhibitions in Spain, New York and Georgia and locally in Romeo and Ferndale. Valenti, a former fashion model and professional ballet dancer, was raised in Italy and came to the United States in 1999, according to a city news release
