Kenneth T. Tellis: The glory days of the U.S. are over

VHeadline commentarist Kenneth T. Tellis writes: I believe that the Venezuelan government of Chavez has every right to nationalize any property on their sovereign territory, just as the U.S. did after Britain signed the Anglo-American Treaty of Versailles in 1783.

The people of Venezuela owe nothing to the U.S. or its oil companies that are exploiting them.

If the Arab and Latin American states are in support of Venezuela's stand on nationalization then it is time for Exxon-Mobil to face reality and accept the deal offered by the Chavez government.

No amount of pressure from the U.S. or the E.U. will change the issue one whit.

If the Bush regime thinks it can threaten Venezuela into complying with Exxon-Mobil's terms then it's dreaming in color.

The heyday of the U.S. is over, and the Gringos better get it thought their thick skulls. Now, other nations will replace the U.S. in world politics.

Tell that idiot George W. Bush that he had better go while the going is good, or face a world where the U.S. is considered an enemy.

  1. The only reason the bolivarian government is paying these exploiting parasites for what it expropriates from them, in the name of the people, is because they want to buy peace from the class enemy for as long as possible (though too many in that government likely intend to have 'peace' at any cost -- so that they may personally profit from maintaining the status quo). However, the imperialists will never accept class peace -- when they can have total domination instead. And so they will always be aggressive as a class, and will act in the most underhanded ways to advance their interests whenever they can.

At some point, the bolivarian socialist revolution must break decisively with the capitalist system -- or be overwhelmed by its unfair "competition". Socialism must expand in the world and vanquish capitalism everywhere -- or worldwide capitalist barbarism will drag the entire planet down into hell. We can see the beginnings of this terminal process unfolding even now.

So prepare for war. And world revolution.
