Gold mining cooperatives want dialogue with Basic Industries & Mining (Mibam) Minister Rodolfo Sanz

VHeadline Venezuela News reports:
Corazon de Jesus mining cooperative president Dallys Figueroa says that local miners are ready to continue cooperating with, and supporting the government, but that it will be necessary to open up dialogue with relevant authorities to understand the full implications of an acceleration of plans presented to the municipal council in El Dorado (southern Bolivar State).

"We in the small mining district of Sifontes can support the acceleration of plans ... but the problem is that it is necessary to open dialogue so that we can understand. We have requested a meeting with Basic Industries & Mining (Mibam) Minister Rodolfo Sanz. Direct dialogue could lead us to shared programs. Our municipalities have always been involved in gold mining, an activity which affects the lives of thousands of families."

Figueroa, who is a director of the Dalla Costa municipal cooperative in El Dorado, agrees with the creation of "socialist enterprises" in the mining sector, since small-scale mining can coexist with socialist enterprises ... however, there has been a fragmentation of small-scale mining while operating permits for parcels NCJ-1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 42 remain un-finalized.

"The problem is that we were given a deadline of 30 days for the delivery of approvals and now nearly six months have gone by and permits are pending for 21 more!"
