Deltaven to assume direct distribution of Venezuelan fuels

The chair of the Energy and Mines Committee, National Assembly, Angel Rodríguez, reported that direct distribution of gasoline and diesel to large establishments will be assumed by Deltaven, a subsidiary of state-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa), in the framework of the implementation of the Law on the Restructuring of the Liquid Fuels Domestic Market.

"The control of a strategic area for the stability and wellbeing of the country will be in the hands of the State. Therefore, the energy input required by power generation companies, large food-producers and food-processing businesses and the basic industries, among others, is guaranteed by the government from now on," Rodríguez said.

The legislator recalled that Deltaven is a subsidiary of Pdvsa that trades fuels, lubricants, asphalt, solvents, greases and other oil byproducts, under the PDV brand. Deltaven also provides technical and advisory services aimed at meeting the needs of the domestic market.
