Latin American Petroleum Show (LAPS) celebrates its 19th edition, June 17-19 in Maracaibo

Caracas Daily Journal: The Latin American Petroleum Show (LAPS 2008) will celebrate its 19th edition from June 17-19 at the Palace of Events of Venezuela in Maracaibo, Zulia state, the city where this very important event has been taking place since 1986.

This exhibition, organized by Grupo BG of Events, is being sponsored by the Venezuelan Oil Chamber along with its ZuliaChapter and has been acknowledged as "An appointment with oil in Venezuela", in which some 30,000 people are expected to attend during the three-days.

A total 900 companies from thirty countries will be participating in this new edition of the Latin American Petroleum Show, where there will be 220 stands within an area of 10,000 square meters. Among the participating countries, stand out Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, China, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, France, India, Iran, Mexico, Norway, the United Kingdom, Russia, and of course Venezuela.

In the exhibition area, there will be located the pavilions of Argentina with companies from that country such as Foundation To export, FAVRA, ETA, Marlew and Province of Chubut; a Representation of Canada with its Embassy as well as the companies Export Development Canada – EDC, Flexpipe Systems, International Electric Rigs, Katch Kan, Petrospec Kizer, Pure Technologies, Stellartech Energy Services, Tesco Corporation, X-Treme Energy Group and SNC-Lavalin; the Pavilion of France will count on companies such as Perenco, Bureau Veritas, Schneider Electric, PCM Moineau Oilfield and Enertag.

For this year, the Venezuelan Oil Chamber's Zulia Chapter will make its traditional luncheon-conference on June 17 with the already confirmed participation of Rafael Ramirez Carreno, who is Venezuela's Oil and Energy Minister and also president of Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA).

The ambassadors of Canada, China, Denmark (consul in Venezuela), Nicaragua, Panama and the United Kingdom will be attending as well.

The Nineteenth Edition of the so-called "An appointment with oil in Latin America" program comprises a series of admission-free forums, technical and institutional conferences which will take place June 18-19 with the participation of experts in oil matters and representatives of PDVSA as well as of its offshoots, which will have plenty of interesting subjects for all visitors.
