Interpol Says FARC Laptops Don’t Incriminate Chavez

Interpol has distanced itself from reports that the authentication of the files extracted from laptop computers allegedly captured from a FARC camp implicate the Venezuelan government in supporting the rebels. Representatives of Interpol said last week that their investigation does not prove the laptops belonged to the FARC or were found in the camp nor does it validate their contents as Colombia previously claimed. Venezuela’s Vice President told reporters “This is information that no serious person can validate. Anyone who knows how to read and write and who has some common sense will notice that these are proofs that cannot be used anywhere in the world.”
