FARC says Colombia wants to kill Chávez and Correa

Iván Márquez, member of the FARC secretariat, says Colombian President Álvaro Uribe wants to assassinate his Venezuelan and Ecuadorean counterparts, Hugo Chávez and Rafael Correa. The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia published a communique by Márquez, wherein he says the DAS, “the CIA of Colombia”, has been able to infiltrate more than a 100 paramilitaries to assassinate Chávez. “The real terrorist is Álvaro Uribe. He tried and keeps trying to kill President Hugo Chávez.” “The DAS is preparing several groups of assassins to be sent to Ecuador to assassinate President Rafael Correa in coordination with a retired general, called Aguas,” Márquez added.
