Cemex Venezuela moved assets on nationalization

Cemex Venezuela 'transferred' assets belonging to subsidiaries in Panama and the Dominican Republic after President Hugo Chavez ordered a takeover of the sector, according to a Cemex document obtained on Wednesday. Venezuela's government on Wednesday requested clarification of the asset transfer, which also included property on Caribbean islands. It was not immediately clear whether Cemex Venezuela had sold the assets or transferred them to another division of the Mexican cement giant Cemex.
