Kenneth T. Tellis: Bill Clinton & Kosovon independence

VHeadline commentarist Kenneth T. Tellis writes: Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence today opens a new page in history. If as France says that the Russian view is too dramatic, then perhaps France would not be opposed to a Declaration of Independence from Normandie, Brittany, Corsica and the Basque region of the Pyrenees. But then there arises another question.

Would the U.S. which created Kosovo now accept the right of any of its own states in the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawai'i to declare their independence?

Then there is also the question, what about Puerto Rican independence? If not, why not?

After all it was U.S. President William Jefferson Clinton that came up with the idea of the separation of province of Kosovo from Serbia. Of course the U.S. will never accept such an idea for their own territory, but will only apply it to foreign nations.

So, it's the usual spiel by the U.S. that what we have is sacred, but what belongs to someone else is negotiable.

But, as we have seen, the U.S. is involved in causing unrest in some of Venezuela's territory with a view to making them break away from Venezuela as they did in the case of Colombia, where they armed people in the province of Panama and helped them break away in the early part of the 20th century.

  1. Leaving aside the clueless western Left that allowed the NATO imperialists to carve up Jugoslavija -- even gave its, uh, un-critical support to the chaos and slaughter -- the rest of the planet understands exactly what the imperialist gameplan is here, and thruout the rest of the world: divide (into itty-bitty pieces too) & conquer.

Let us instead combine together to divide the imperialists -- from us, and from their loot (our stolen patrimony) and source of power over us.
