The director of a radio station in Venezuela's central Carabobo state has been shot dead. Orel Zambrano was shot multiple times by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle. He was 61. Zambrano was the director of regional radio station Radio America. He was also a lawyer and columnist for the regional daily Notitarde. Venezuelan prosecutors said in a statement that police are investigating the killing. According to Venezuela's Justice Ministry, national homicides last September averaged 152 a week.
