Venezuelan parliament voices support for Beijing Olympics

The Venezuelan Congress adopted a resolution on Thursday, reiterating its support for the Beijing Olympics. The resolution, which was passed unanimously at a plenary session, also expressed welcome to Uyunqimg, vice chairwoman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC),who is leading an NPC delegation on a visit to Venezuela. The Chinese government and people have been preparing to host the most successful Olympic Games in history, and the Venezuelan Congress will provide all necessary support to the Chinese government and people in this regard, the resolution said. The Venezuelan Congress wished the Beijing Olympics a success, and was proud that the country was able to send its largest delegation to the Olympics in its history. The visit by the NPC delegation has helped to promote the friendly relations between legislatures between the two countries, the resolution said. The NPC delegation arrived in Caracas Wednesday on a four-day visit to Venezuela.
