Pro-government group attacks dissenters in Caracas
An irregular situation took place in Bolívar Square, downtown Caracas, after the leaders and some members of opposition Christian Democrat Copei party laid a wreath at the statue of Venezuela's hero Simón Bolívar, on the occasion of the 63rd Anniversary of the party. Dozens people who claimed to be supporters of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez's arrived in Bolívar Square, smashed the wreath and attacked Copei members. Members of Copei, their supporters and media staff had to leave to avoid the violent attack of the pro-government activists, who also threw chairs and objects in the area.

If memory serves, except for the shirt color, wasn't this same method used earlier in time to ensure absolute power for a leader who took power under a so called democratic systm?
