VHeadline commentarist Carlos M. Pietri writes: Now that electoral process has concluded in my country, Venezuela, I wish to congratulate my compatriots for having demonstrated, yet again, their attachment to the model of participative democracy ... and the ratification of our desire to forge ahead with the Bolivarian process…
I write these lines to share with you my different perspective on the election results as reviewed by our friend and editor Roy Carson, since I believe that the numbers have fortified our belief in the revolutionary process.
We will now be in charge in 18 of the 23 states in our nation…
It is clear that the opposition won five (5) of the states that have a greater population density, but the detail that he (Roy) forgets to mention is that in each one of them, they won by a small margin, which never exceeded 10% (with the exception of Nueva Esparta/Isla de Margarita). Nevertheless our triumphs were, in the majority, so forceful that the differences in some cases were as much as 50% as in the states of Lara and Monagas.
It is also good to remember, that, because of some "personal hunger," some of the political parties that used to be allied to President Chavez split from the President's political approach for the electoral process. They were (or, are) so clear in their revolutionary ideals, that their first step was to accompany the leaders of the opposition (those who they were, supposedly, fighting against for the last the 10 years), across the entire nation. But, in spite of this treason in process, the people turned four of those states that the traitors had placed in the hands of the opposition to President Chavez and PSUV.
With regard to those who did NOT get the support of the Venezuelan people, my reading (of the situation) is that Bolivarian "mill" continues turning and purifying the process…
I only hope that these compatriots take aboard the message that was delivered and rectify their behavior…
So, the results indicate that VENEZUELA ... today more than ever ... is determined to continue in the process of reconstruction and fortification of the Bolivarian process.
