Chavez could talk energy in China Sep. 23-25

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez will pay an official visit to China on September 23-25, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday. Jiang Yu said Chavez will meet with President Hu Jintao and other high-ranking officials in China. They are expected to discuss energy cooperation, among other issues. The sides will also sign a number of partnership documents. The spokeswoman said China highly values cooperation with Venezuela, which it called 'one of the most influential Latin American countries.' 'However our cooperation is not directed against third parties,' she added.
